Charles G. Irion Performs Medical
Assessment For Project C.U.R.E. In Mumbai, India
As an advisory board member and a trained and
certified needs assessment representative, Charles G. Irion’s latest mission was
in Mumbai, India. The
city of Mumbai, is a great port city, situated on the west coast of the Indian
peninsula. One of India’s dominant urban
centers, it’s one of the largest and most densely populated cities in the
world. Therefore, the medical needs are
great. Major health problems in the city
include AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, chronic respiratory ailments, and
gastro-intestinal diseases related to poor sanitation and hygiene.
Working closely with Harvest India, Irion
assessed two hospitals. One located in
Mumbai and another in Tenali. The
Phil-Am Lions Club donated over 250 pair of neutralized eye glasses for
children in an orphanage, and Irion himself brought over fifty pounds of
clothing for children in need.
