Murder on Kilimanjaro, the culmination and final novel in the Summit Murder Mystery series, by Charles G. Irion, is available now at Audible.com

Irion Books, LLC is pleased to announce that Murder on Kilimanjaro, a Summit Murder Mystery, is now available via audio book.  Already available on audio are the titles, Murder on Everest, Murder on Elbrus, Murder on Mt. McKinley, Murder on Puncak Jay, Murder on Aconcagua and Murder on Vinson Massif.  Award-winning author Charles G. Irion says, “I’m thrilled for fans of the Summit Murder Mystery series to have the final book in the series, available to them for their listening pleasure!  I know they’ve been waiting to hear how the series comes to a dramatic conclusion, and it will not disappoint.”

The Summit Murder Mystery Series features seven climbing murder mysteries that are each set atop one of the world’s seven continental summits; the highest and most dangerous mountains in the world.  In a clever twist, Charles G. Irion has added to the mix murder, suspense, and an enviable hero working for the U.S. Defense Intelligence agency, making for a truly original series.  Inspired by Irion’s 1987 Mt. Everest climb, and his 2011 Mt. Kilimanjaro climb, mountain climbers have stated Irion’s has instilled the realism of the climb in each novel.

Murder on Kilimanjaro and the other exciting Summit Murder Mystery novels are available at www.Audible.com

The Summit Murder Mystery series can also be found at these additional retailers - iTunes, Amazon, Amazon kindle, Sony, The Book Depository, Barnes & Noble, Books on Board, KOBO

Firefighter to Climb Kilimanjaro

Sandbach firefighter to climb Kilimanjaro for Firefighters Charity and North West Air Ambulance

A determined Sandbach firefighter has set his sights on climbing Africa’s highest mountain for charity.

John Brownrigg, watch manager at Sandbach Fire Station, has been an on-call firefighter for 20 years.

He will set off on his once-in-a-lifetime challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro on September 11 with all money raised going to the Firefighters Charity and North West Air Ambulance.

Kilimanjaro lies 205 miles south of the equator and stands on Tanzania’s northern border with Kenya.
John also needs to carry all his kit to cover the full seven days he will be there.

John said: “It’s a tough climb as Kilimanjaro is 19,340 feet above sea level, which is nearly five times the height of Snowdon and has tropical temperatures at the base to a freezing -26C at the snow-capped summit.

“I am doing this to raise money for two very good causes and would like anyone who can to please sponsor me.

“Help me to help those that help us.”

To sponsor John visit his fundraising page at uk.virginmoneygiving.com.

Good luck John!  If you need any advice, shoot me an email!  charles@charlesirion.com

Reviews Are Coming In!

Reviews are starting to roll in for Murder on Kilimanjaro!  Check out these two reviews, and order your own copy by CLICKING HERE!

"A long time fan of Charles G. Irion's novels, this final book to his series made me wanting more. As I've been to the area he writes of, his attention to details of Africa is amazingly accurate. Combined with Irion's creative, dramatic writing this is a must read. Allow yourself plenty of time! You won't be able to put this book down." - Writing in Style, Amazon.com reviewer

"I read Murder on Kilimanjaro this weekend. One of those stories where you need to keep reading. I must say the action and environmental descriptions were wonderfully written putting you in the middle of the action. You could feel the fear and the struggle to stay alive. This is what every writer wants to achieve, transporting the reader from arm chair and into the action." - Jan O'Kane, Amazon.com reviewer

K2 Summer in the City Event

I am proud to announce that Irion Books, LLC is a major sponsor of the K2 Adventure Foundation's 3rd Annual "Summer in the City" event at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix, AZ on May 19th.  K2 Adventures Foundation is a qualified 501c(3) non-profit national and international organization whose mission is to care for children and families with special needs and or life changing medical circumstances by providing services and funds that will be used for educational and medical enrichment.

Kevin Cherilla and Kristen Sandquist are the co-founders of the K2 organization and I was lucky enough to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with them in June of last year.  Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro was an unforgettable experience and I used it as research to formulate the plot and excitement that you will find in Murder on Kilimanjaro, the final book in my Summit Murder Mystery series due out in October 2012.

The 'Summer in the City' event will feature a luncheon and fashion show, shopping from local vendors and silent and live auctions.  The best part is that all the monies raised from the event directly support local and international charities and the Mwereni Integrated School for the Blind in Tanzania.

To register for the event, please CLICK HERE!

I am looking forward to sharing photos from the event, so stay tuned!

The Perfect Pitch by Ken Rotcop

I met Ken Rotcop at one of his three day workshops here in Arizona, learning about screen writing and getting my book ready to pitch to Hollywood movie producers.  Ken was the head of several major Hollywood studios, and gave me great insight about how to get Murder on Everest on the big screen.  I think Brad Pitt would make a great Scott Devlon, and his wife Angelina Jolie a great Tarja.  Do you agree?

Murder on Everest is selling at a record pace, and the readers love it!  Right now I'm busy writing the final mystery in the Summit Murder Mystery series, Murder on Kilimanjaro.  I will keep you posted on future events as Murder on Everest the movie evolves and when the grand finale of the murder series, Murder on Kilimanjaro comes out!
