I had a wonderful time at For the Love of Africa, a Project C.U.R.E. event I wrote about HERE

It was a fun safari - chic gala to benefit the Pokot Hospital Project and to honor Dr. Douglas Jackson, Project C.U.R.E.'s CEO.  Here are some photos from the event.

For the Love of Africa Project C.U.R.E. Event

Hi Everyone!  Thank you for reading my blog!  Did you know that I'm the author of not just one, but thirteen books?  For more information, please visit www.charlesirion.com, www.irionbooks.com and/or www.summitmurdermystery.com

I am thrilled to be participating in the upcoming event on October 19, 2013

For the Love of Africa
A Safari-Chic Gala to benefit the Pokot Hospital Project

Imagine living in an area so remote that hospitals simply don’t exist.  Each year nearly 1,000,000 people are affected by preventable and curable disease simply because they have no access to doctors or medical clinics. We endeavor to change that.

Friends of Africa International is building a hospital and creating a network of mobile medical clinics to serve nearly 1,000,000 people.  Project C.U.R.E. has pledged to donate more than $1,000,000 in medical supplies and equipment to make them functional.
As an Advisory Board Member and International Assessment Representative for Project C.U.R.E. this is an event that is very important to me and your participation, in any way, helps make a difference!

The evening program will include:

A mini-safari through the Phoenix Zoo

African Drummers and Tribal Fashion Show

Dinner Featuring Authentic African Cuisine

African Market, Silent Auction and Raffle Drawings

Safari Presentation with Royal African Safaris

Live Auction with Celebrity Auctioneer Letitia Frye

Program Emcee Brad Perry
2013 Friends of Africa International Humanitarian Awards honoring

patron James Bishop and Dr. Douglas Jackson of Project C.U.R.E.

Honored guests include:

The famed Lost Boys of Sudan now living in Arizona

Nairobi Board Members, Bernard Kimani, Paul Kiteshu and Edmond Kamama

Kefe Kihara, Chief Pilot AMReF, Flying Doctors of East Africa

International Advisory Board Members: Dr. Don Johanson,

Nick Lowery and James Strock

2013 Humanitarian Award Recipients, James Bishop and Dr. Douglas Jackson

If you can’t attend, please consider making a donation. Event proceeds will provide healthcare access for nearly 1,000,000 people in northern Kenya.
