Did I meet the next Celebrity Apprentice?

Are you a fan of Celebrity Apprentice?  It is one of my favorite shows.  I like the fact the celebrities are raising money for their favorite charities, and watching them try to complete the tasks assigned to them by Donald Trump is entertaining.  I've met a few of the celebrities that are participating in Celebrity Apprentice this year.  I thought it would be fun to share my pictures with you.  A couple of them have already heard those dreaded two words... "YOU'RE FIRED!"

Author and Entrepreneur Charles G. Irion Embarking on a New Adventure

Author to climb Mt. Machu Picchu during trip to Peru

In June, Charles G. Irion author of the Summit Murder Mystery Series is heading to Peru to begin a new adventure!   In keeping with the philanthropy efforts that Irion holds dear, while in Peru, Irion will be performing one day of community service helping disabled children in Nuestra Senora del Carmen—in Cusco, Peru.  Irion can’t wait, “I am really looking forward to this trip, it is sure to be memorable and one I will treasure for a lifetime.”

Irion is joining K2 Adventures Foundation on this trip and it will start out with a visit to the spectacular cities of Lima, Cusco, and Aguas Calientes.  Including guided tours of the historic city of Cusco, and a six day hike to reach the ancient city Machu Picchu, Irion will clearly be in his element.  No stranger to mountain climbing after his climbs up Mt. Everest in 1987, and Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2011, Irion is looking forward to adding this mountain to his ever growing list of accomplishments.

Sure to be a world class adventure, there is no doubt fans of the Summit Murder Mystery Series hope that Irion will walk away from this trip with an idea for a new book.  “You never know!” laughs Irion.

About Charles Irion – Charles G. Irion is a publisher, author, entrepreneur, adventurer and philanthropist.  For several decades Irion has been the sole proprietor and broker for U.S. Park Investments, a leading operator of manufactured Home and RV communities in the United States.

With a passion for the written word, Irion made his dream a reality when he released the first book in his Hell Series, Remodeling Hell in 2007.  All based on Irion’s real life hellish events, Autograph Hell, Car Dealer Hell, and Divorce Hell soon followed.  While writing the Hell Series, the start of the Summit Murder Mystery Series began.  Inspired by Irion’s 1987 attempt to climb Mt. Everest, and later, a 2011 climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro, each book in the series is set atop the highest point of the world’s seven continents.   Fans of the series state that you can feel the thrill of the climb with every turn of the page.  The climb begins with Murder on Everest, and continues with Murder on Elbrus, Murder on Mt. McKinley, Murder on Puncak Jaya, Murder on Aconcagua, Murder on Vinson Massif and ends with Murder on Kilimanjaro.

Irion is a founder of his own children’s dictionary charity, is a founding member of Phoenix Social Venture Partners and is an advisory board member for Project C.U.R.E., Irion’s philanthropic contributions span decades and can be seen locally and globally.

Fundraiser to help Guatamalans

As an advisory board member for Project C.U.R.E., I was invited to attend a fundraiser over the weekend that was sponsored by Advance Guatemala.  Advance Guatemala is a non profit organization that provides aid to the poverty stricken Guatemala.  The guest of honor at the event was the Former First Lady of Guatemala, Wendy de Berger.  The First Lady presented the needs of the impoverished Guatemalans the organization serves.  Advance Guatemala raised funds to support its health care, education, housing and social entrepreneurship projects at the event.

My wife Rose and I had the opportunity to meet the Former First Lady, and enjoyed the "Guatemalan experience" theme the event immersed us in.  The fundraiser was held at the beautiful  Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona.  We really enjoyed ourselves.  Take a look at some pictures from the event below.

Several vendors were set up, and you can see the beautiful mountains in the background.

A few years ago, I had the honor of meeting Coretta Scott King.  We chatted briefly and I got to shake her hand, and thank her for all her efforts in uniting us.  With this being Martin Luther King week, I thought I would share my picture and memory with you.
